Pure. Popcorn. Entertainment. That's an exact classification of director Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge from the Fallen. The action is nonstop, with battles and explosions from learn to finish. The camera (without any subtlety) exploits Megan Fox's hotness for the max. As if she weren't enough, a new sex kitten (Isabel Lucas) is thrown in the equation. Shia LaBeouf is as charismatic as ever, and fills the starring role with ease. Then you have the humour. Sam's parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White)provided some semi-raunchy laugh-out-loud moments inside the first movie, but now they go towards the next level. Sometimes it appears like they may be trying a bit too hard, but it continues to be hilarious.

As far because the “plot” goes, the writers didn't waste much time--it's really only a context for your giant-robot death matches and dramatic slow-mo sequences. The movie kicks off 2 yrs later the place that the Autobots have formed an alliance while using U.S. government, creating an elite team led by Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel), within an effort to snuff out any remaining Decepticons that show up. The bad guys keep coming, and yes it turns out that the much more menacing force than Megatron is out there--and it can be trying to find something on the planet that is tied to the very origin with the Transformers race. Fans from the franchise will likely be delighted with the addition of many new robot characters (there are very well over 40 inside the sequel, versus only 13 within the first). The second Transformers has shaped up to be one in the worst reviewed and most successful movies of most time. This strange pairing is actually just an indication until this movie has one purpose: to entertain. The creators didn't need to spend time bogging around the action and drama with substance--which was arguably a great decision. --Jordan Thompson
